Food for Thought: Interfaith discussion on Food

Food for Thought was an interfaith discussion held through food. That’s how we at SLRM chose to explore Sri Lankan food and the conversations around it. Held on the 22nd of December, 2022 we had a cozy gathering of individuals who graced the occasion in order to contribute to and explore this discussion.

We delved deep into attendees’ personal relationships and experiences of food, its religious and cultural importance, and the history of the food we eat in Sri Lanka.

Seth Ganepola beginning the discussion by talking about his very large appetite.

Father Prasad Harshan, Nahdiya Danish and Shihara Ferdinando sharing a conversation.

Nahdiya Danish bringing in the Gahwa (Arabic coffee) which she made because it started it raining and we moved the discussion indoors.
