A film screening & discussion on the survivors of the Easter Sunday attack

The S.L. Reconciliation Movement (SLRM) hosted an educative film screening at 'The Festival of Ideas' hosted by the Bandaranaike Center for International Studies (BCIS) to commemorate its 50th anniversary on the 29th of November 2024. The purpose of the film screening was to raise awareness and to instill empathy for the survivors and victims of the Easter Sunday Attack that Sri Lanka witnessed on the 21st of April, 2019.

In this research paper, we answer the question: How do social and economic exclusion impact the vulnerability of youth from families of the detainees of the Easter Sunday Attack in the Eastern Province of Sri Lanka, particularly in relation to social discrimination and susceptibility to violent extremist ideologies, and what interventions can address these challenges?
